What is the CPD?
The CPD is the Center for Professional Development. It is a part of
Illinois Institute of Technology that encompasses Information Technology
and Managemet degree programs,
Manufacturing/Industrial Programs
including
Manufacturing Technology & Management degrees
and CEU-bearing Professional Learning Programs including information technology
certificates as well as short courses in all of the university's disciplines.
The CPD is based at the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Campus in Wheaton.
Why was the CPD formed?
The CPD was formed to coordinate and integrate the various programs and therefore
better serve the needs of companies and working professionals. The Center provides
students with a common source of information and advising about the course offerings
and administers registration and logistic support during course offerings.
When was the CPD formed?
The CPD was formed in June of 2001.
Where is the CPD located?
The CPD office is located in the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Campus at 201 East
Loop Road in Wheaton, IL 60187. Many of its programs are available at the Chicago
IT Campus at 200 West Adams, Suite 1105 and IIT's main Campus. Directions to

When are short courses offered?
Short courses offered at a company site can be offered any time, but usually
require 4-6 weeks advance notice. Short courses at IITs campuses are offered

Can I receive credit for taking a short course?
The CPD offers short courses which award IACET (International Association for
Continuing Education and Training) certified CEUs (Continuing Education Units).
Both the CPD and other academic
units within Illinois Institute of Technology offer academic accelerated
courses for college credit; accelerated courses are the for-credit equivalent
of short courses. If
